KUALA LUMPUR, 19 September - Ketua Umum KeADILan, Anwar Ibrahim mendedahkan terdapatnya konsiprasi dalam sistem kehakiman negara melalui satu tayangan video di rumah beliau hari ini.
Video tersebut merakam aksi perbualan VK Lingam melalui telefon di rumahnya dengan Ketua Hakim Negara, Ahmad Fairuz Abdul Halim pada tahun 2002.
Pada ketika itu Ahmad Fairuz merupakan Ketua Ketua Hakim Malaya iaitu orang nombor tiga dalam hierarki badan kehakiman negara.
Menurut Anwar, rakaman video tersebut jelas membuktikan bahawa proses perlantikan hakim-hakim kanan penuh dengan skandal rasuah dan penyelewengan.
“Ini juga membuktikan bahawa pelantikan tersebut turut mempengaruhi hasil-hasil dalam sebilangan prosiding kehakiman termasuk kes saya,” tegasnya.
Beliau menegaskan bahawa melalui video tersebut Lingam turut menyebut nama Vincent Tan dan Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor dalam perbualannya.
“Vincent Tan merupakan seorang ahli perniagaan dan hartawan perjudian yang terlibat dalam penyalahgunaan proses kehakiman yang kini dikenali sebagai kes Ayer Molek,” jelasnya.
Manakala, ujarnya, Tengku Adnan adalah pemimpin Umno dan juga ahli Kabinet yang salah seorang terlibat dalam kospirasi politik untuk memecat beliau sebagai Timbalan Perdana Menteri pada tahun 1998.
“Dalam video ini VK Lingam dapat dilihat dan didengar bercakap dengan Ketua Hakim Negara (sekarang) Ahmad Fairus di mana nama saya dan Wee Chee Keong di antara lain disebut secara khusus,” katanya.
Anwar juga memberitahu bahawa pada tahun 1994, gambar Lingam bersama bekas Ketua Hakim Negara, Eusoffe Chin sedang bercuti di New Zealand boleh menimbulkan beberapa persoalan tentang sikap, politik dan etika peguam itu yang memberi implikasi kedududakan dan kewibawaan Ketua Hakim Negara ketika itu.
“Lingam juga terlibat dalam kes laporan ‘Pricewaterhouse Coopers’ yang dibentangkan oleh saya dalam Parlimen pada tahun 1995 berikutan satu siasatan audit yang lengkap Perwaja menguatkan skandal yang melibatkan kerugian berbilion ringgit,” katanya.
Menurutnya lagi, pendedahan skandal tersebut akan mengesahkan apa yang KeADILan yakini sebelum ini bahawa terdapatnya konspirasi di peringkat tertingi dan rasuah besar yang melibatkan badan kehakiman.
Beliau berkata bahawa konspirasi tersebut antara lain memberi kesan kepada keputusan badan kehakiman yang dikatakan menganiaya orang yang tertentu.
“Ini melibatkan kepentingan awam dan kita desak kerajaan tubuhkan tribunal bebas untuk siasat skandal yang mengaibkan ini,” katanya.
Beliau juga berkata akan mengusulkan isu itu kepada Presiden KeADILan, Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail agar menemui Majlis Raja-raja Melayu bagi menyerahkan video tersebut.
“Pertemuan itu adalah untuk memohon Majlis Raja-raja Melayu supaya menjalankan tanggungjawab mereka menurut perlembagaan agar badan kehakiman kekal bebas,” tegasnya.
Sementara itu, Naib Presiden KeADILan, Sivarasa Rasiah memberitahu video tersebut turut akan dibawa ke Majlis Peguam Negara supaya boleh diteliti secara terperinci.
“Apa yang terjadi kepada sistem perundangan negara pada masa sekarang mesti diberitahu kepada orang ramai,” tegasnya.
Menurutnya, adalah menjadi tugas KeADILan untuk mendedahkan setiap maklumat yang diperolehi kepada orang ramai.
Pendedahan dan tayangan video sepanjang lebih 8 minit itu dibuat dalam satu sidang media khas di pejabat Anwar di Petaling Jaya.
Turut hadir Bendahari Agung KeADILan, William Leong serta pegawai-pegawai khas Anwar termasuk Nathaniel Tan dan Sim Tze Tsin.
